Two weeks have passed since the fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou happened. However, this bout is still lodged in the minds of fight fans. Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman, two of the greatest names in MMA, came to support Francis Ngannou’s camp. The duo have allegedly pushed Francis Ngannou to use a less common technique in his toolbox—the Superman punch—against famed boxer Tyson Fury.
Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman explained to Ngannou that this punch was not illegal, and Israel Adesanya even gave him some examples. Adesanya said he was allowed to throw a Superman punch in his first Super 8 fight. He proceeded to mention Mike Tyson’s flying left hook. Kamaru Usman interjected to this, saying:

The Superman punch is a striking technique that involves leaping forward with one leg while simultaneously throwing a straight punch. Ngannou took their advice and threw the Superman punch in the 10th round of that bout. Tyson Fury won the fight via a split decision, but Ngannou won the hearts of fight fans. He went against the lineal heavyweight champion and boxed him for ten rounds, even knocking him down once.
The fight between these collosol figures in their respective sport will inspire more crossover bouts. Fight fans still recall this fight like it was yesterday. This bout created a buzz that is rarely seen in the combat sports world, bringing in celebrities and athletes alike from all over the world to witness this bout.
