It is no secret that UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya promotes some of his fights on the basis of his trash talk. Adesanaya has fought fellow Australian Robert Whittaker twice in the UFC. He has often trash-talked to him but hasn’t received any as Whittaker is known for being respectful. A clip of him questioning Whittaker’s heritage had gone viral. Stylebender has recently come out to apologize for his comments.

Adesanya appeared on the Halfcast podcast hosted by his teammates, Tyson Pedro, and Kai Kara France. He spoke about various things with his friends and also talked about his regret for his words. Adesanya accepted his mistake by saying, “I can admit when I was wrong. I f*cked up back then, but you learn. So I would never say that to Rob again because who am I to try and take away his heritage? That’s f*cking stupid”.

The middleweight champ also admitted his hypocrisy when he got riled up due to Dricus Du Plessis calling himself the first real African champion. Adesanya admitted that he had done the same thing to Whittaker. He also said that being a black guy and questioning a Maori Australian about their heritage was not a good look on himself.

Dricus Du Plessis knocking out Robert Whittaker at UFC 290 was one of the highlights of the eventful night. After his win against Whittaker, the South African demanded a title shot against Israel Adesanya for the middleweight championship. Adesanya who was in the venue supporting his friend Alexander Volkanovski heard his callout and came into the octagon.

Adesanya looked heated up as soon as he came into the ring and faced off with Du Plessis. The two fighters had a heated back and forth with the infamous n-word flying around too. Adesanya dropped multiple N- bombs while referring to Du Plessis as his brother and trying to bait him too. Du Plessis gave a cunning reply to Adesanya by saying, “I am African but I’m no brother of your’s son”.

Adesanya was ready to fight Du Plessis at UFC Sydney in September. But the fight had to be canceled due to Du Plessis pulling out due to personal reasons. Adesanya took to Twitter to express his disappointment and also called out Sean Strickland to replace the South African powerhouse. A fight between the two will be awaited by fans.
