Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland locked horns as expected during the pre-fight presser of UFC 293. The champion and challenger of the middleweight title already have an existing feud stemming from UFC 276.

Strickland accused Adesanya of being a CCP sympathizer and also a dog molester, which drew a huge reaction from the crowd. The crowd was pro-Strickland, to the amusement of the fans online. One topic of debate for Strickland and Adesanya was the Energy drink they represent. Adesanya, along with Alexander Volkanovski, signed with Prime Sports Drink. Logan Paul and KSI own Prime. Strickland recently signed with Monster Energy Drink, much to the champion’s dismay.

Prime is currently valued at $10 billion, while Monster Energy is valued at $59 billion. Monster Energy has the second biggest market share after Red Bull. Adesanya is cordial with the Paul brothers and has appeared in their podcasts. Alexander Volkanovski is also cordial with the brothers. Interestingly, Logan Paul is amicable with Dana White, to the dismay of Jake, who is not so fond of White. Jake Paul and Dana White engaged in a social media war since 2021.

UFC 293 has been termed weak by the media and fans but can produce fireworks if the hometown fighters deliver. The card is filled with fighters from the Oceanic region. However, elite fighters like Alexander Volkanovski, Dan Hooker, Robert Whitaker and Kai Kara-France are not in it.
