UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is one clean athlete to fight in the Octagon and there’s no one to throw dirt on that status, at least he’s enough confident to even bet on that. Adesanya is headlining UFC 276 this weekend as he is fighting #2 ranked middleweight Jared Cannonier who’s having the best run in the 185 lbs so far out of the three weight classes he fought on before. After Robert Whittaker, Adesanya is looking forward to being the second fighter to defeat Cannonier at middleweight.
But more so, the stakes are higher for the champ himself as this will be his fifth title defence. Having had the previous 2 title defences in the form of a rematch, Adesanya is looking forward with excitement to this matchup for the reason he has never fought Cannonier before. If Adesanya gets the job done this weekend, he will be looking forward to another whole new challenge in the form of either Alex Pereira or Sean Strickland, provided who wins in their middleweight bout under the same fight card.

In an interview for the pre-fight media scrum, Adesanya talks about allegations of him using steroids or any other form of Performance Enhancing Drugs because he gets a gyno on one of his chests. In this context, Adesanya talked about it because he was rewarded by USADA with a jacket for 50 clean drug tests.
“[People] just find excuses to take away my greatness,” says Adesanya “And I understand this is what people are supposed to do, so I let’em, you know. Look, I will give $3,000,000 to anyone who can ever have concrete evidence that I even know what the f**k I am doing with steroids, or how to take steroids, I promise you, Wallahi, $3,000,000 if you find anyone who has concrete evidence that I have purchased, touched or whatever… “
