UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has made headlines again for his controversial tweets. Adesanya is known for his colorful and active social media presence. He is very outspoken in his views and lands himself in controversy due to it. A fan recently recovered a deleted tweet from Adesanya which adds to the “dog trolling” started by Sean Strickland ahead of UFC 293.
Adesanya took to Twitter where he spoke about his friendship with his old dog. He said, “I was 22, I flicked my dogs soft w**ly while patting his tummy because i thought it was funny”. He then went on to mention how he ignored the trolling as the dog was his best friend and had passed away. However, Adesanya vowed to make Strickland pay for bringing up his “dead homie” in a disrespectful manner.
Strickland is known for his outspoken personality and did not hold back during the press conference with Adesanya. He promised his fans a entertaining fight and an even better press conference. Strickland himself has said that he respects Adesanya and appreciates his fighting style but the dog video is wher ehe draws the line.
Strickland has called for PETA to investigate Adesanya as a joke and has also made jokes about Adesanya being a dog lover. Despite the backlash, Adesanya believes that he has done nothing wrong. He will look forward to confronting Strickland in the cage for trolling his dog.
