UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is considered one of the sharpest and greatest strikers in the UFC. Before his defeat against Alex Pereira, Israel Adesanya was actively defending his title and made sure to make easy work of his opponents. He is currently coming off a tremendous career win, and bantamweight fighter Sean O’Malley believes that Israel Adesanya is the best UFC champion to date.

Throughout his career, Israel Adesanya has pushed through several adversity. He was undefeated in UFC for a long time but tasted defeat when he tried to capture the light heavyweight title. Adesanya was also knocked out by his long-time opponent Alex Pereira, losing his middleweight title. Many considered Alex as Adesanya’s kryptonite due to their history and counted him out.

However, Adesanya came back to finish Alex Pereira in their next fight at UFC 287, which catapulted his fame yet again. Adesanya also commands a considerable crowd and sells a lot of tickets, which is why Sean O’Malley has anointed Israel Adesanya as the very best.

” Izzy has been the best champ UFC’s ever seen. The amount of times he’s fought consistently as a champion in the UFC is f****ng legendary. The level of competition (between Israel Adesanya and Anderson Silva), I feel like is not even comparable,” said O’Malley. O’Malley is not the only one with this opinion as former UFC star Chael Sonnen also agreed with the claim. Sonnen also believed that the Stylebender would soon reach Conor McGregor’s level of fame.

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya as of now is one of the biggest stars in UFC. Although many call out the Stylebender on his antics, they can’t help but appreciate his fighting style. Adesanya is already one of the sharpest fighters on the UFC’s roster. However, according to former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen, he might have surpassed the G.O.A.T Jon Jones.

Yet, his former opponent Chael Sonnen believes Adesanya will soon take up the spot due to his marketability. “ Izzy’s beating him. What Izzy did and the attention that Izzy can command, and the hype that Izzy can command, the checks that he gets, the money and the dollars that he brings,” said Sonnen.

The former UFC fighter added that Adesanya aims for Conor McGregor’s spot. He will soon become the most famous fighter from UFC, leaving Jon Jones in the dust. While Adesanya might be catching up to McGregor, he has undoubtedly taken the spotlight from Jon Jones. Adesanya’s influence among fight fans is rising as Jones might soon retire from the sport.
