Israel Adesanya
Israel Adesanya successfully defended his UFC Middleweight Championship by defeating Jared Cannonier by majority decision in the Saturday’s main event of UFC 276 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
For the most part of the battle, the champion was limited to leg kicks and jabs, with Cannonier posing less of a threat as the crowd booed him at various points in the fourth and fifth rounds. With little uncertainty as to whose hand would be raised, some even left early. Adesanya did not need to take the chance in the end and will likely now face Alex Pereira as the next opponent for his middleweight title. There was no highlight-reel knockout.
