Israel Adesanya promises to knockout Sean Strickland(MMA Fighting, MMA Mania)
The middleweight championship fight between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland has been confirmed for UFC 293 in Sydney. The fight was much anticipated by the fans and promises fireworks. Both Adesanya and Strickland are known for their trash-talking skills over the mic as well as social media. Adesanya has already started trolling Strickland.
Adesanya posted a video of Strickland getting knocked out by former rival Alex Pereira on his Instagram. He posted the video and captioned it “Train five rounds, do him in one”. He referred to Pereira’s vicious knockout over Strickland in the first round at UFC 276. Adesanya feels confident that he can knock out Strickland in the first round itself.
Stylebender was originally going to fight South African Powerhouse Dricus Du Plessis but the fight had to be canceled after Du Plessis pulled out. The fight between Du Plessis and Adesanya was imminent after their heated face-off at UFC 290. Adesanya called out Strickland after the news of Du Plessis pulling out was official. Strickland agreed to the bout last minute.

Adesanya is well-known for his striking ability as well as his unique combination of kickboxing and mixed martial arts. He is also known for his charisma and showmanship, and his pre-fight walkouts are frequently entertaining. Fans will look forward to seeing the middleweight champion back in the ring.
Israel Adesanya’s coach believes Dricus Du Plessis “took title shot for granted”

The fight between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland at UFC 293 was not the original main event. After the South African’s stunning upset victory over fan favorite Robert Whittaker at UFC 290 last month, the battle for middleweight gold was expected to be between Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis. But the fight had to be canceled after Du Plessis faced a foot injury.
Adesanya’s long-time coach at City Kickboxing, Eugene Bareman believes that Du Plessis wasn’t serious enough for a title shot. In an interview with Submission Radio Bareman said, “The problem with them is they’ve had an injury and it’s been a bad injury. So what? You’ve taken your shot for granted. You think you’re gonna get it again. But you don’t know what this machine does. You don’t know the UFC. You don’t know what they do”.
Overall, it is a very close fight. Du Plessis has the advantage in power and grappling, but Adesanya has the advantage in striking. It will be fascinating to see how the two middleweights match up, and the fight will be thrilling to watch.
