“Lol champ”-Israel Adesanya responds to a rumoured CNBC report that Paulo Costa is a UFC champion

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya demolished Paulo Costa at UFC 253 in September, knocking out “Borrachinha” in the second round in an extremely uncompetitive battle. With that victory, Adesanya set himself to face Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight title at UFC 259 the man against whom he most recently defended his middleweight title is slamming the victory that put Israel in this position.
Costa after the fight posted a video on his YouTube channel in which he blamed his loss to Adesanya on becoming drunk the night before the fight because he couldn’t sleep, claiming that this was the reason for his poor performance. It’s an excuse that Adesanya doesn’t seem to believe in.
Costa has only fought once, losing to Marvin Vettori. Adesanya has successfully defended his middleweight belt twice. The Brazilian’s defeat in the main event put him on a two-fight losing streak for the first time in his career.

The 31-year-old does not agree with the nurse’s version of events, but he is scheduled to appear in court when criminal charges have been filed. If Adesanya defeats Cannonier, it will be intriguing to see who the corporation assigns him to fight next.
