Jared Cannonier is booked to face Champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 276
Israel Adesanya promises to bring out his A-game against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276. UFC is going to hold what could be the biggest Pay-per-view event of 2022 on July 2 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The event has multiple title fights and it could not get any better than that.
In the main event, Adesanya is going to defend his Middleweight title against Cannonier. Cannonier got the title shot after defeating Derek Brunson at UFC 271 via KO. On the other hand, it is going to be Izzy’s 5th title defence. Adesanya’s last few fights have been pretty normal with not much to see. Lately, the fight fans have been complaining about the champ being boring and not taking initiative during the fight.
In his last fight against Robert Whittaker, Adesanya who is famous for his striking didn’t do much and stuck to a game plan. While it’s obvious for the champ to be cautious as he has everything to lose, it’s not what the fans want.
Israel Adesanya on his upcoming fight with Jared Cannonier
Izzy frequently uploads videos on his YouTube channel for his fans and followers. The fighter has around 780k subscribers who like his videos. He generally posts vlogs, training sessions and Pay-per-view fight reactions etc.
Adesanya recently shared a video of his training session for the upcoming mega-fight with Cannonier. In the video, Izzy explained that the fight is going to be extremely exciting. He even compared the fight with the iconic contest between Anderson Silva and Forest Griffin at UFC 101. Izzy confirmed that in the fight he is going to be at his best and asked fans to watch it. He said :
“This is gonna be spectacular…Think UFC 101 and this is Silva vs Forest Griffin. Like I’m just gonna be in the zone, I don’t care and yeah. Stay tuned.”
Indeed the hype around the fight is impressive. Adesanya in the last few years has shown his dominance and has cleared out the division. He deliberately asked for new competition and Cannonier is ready to give that to Izzy. It will be interesting to see if the new challenger has what it takes to dethrone the champion.
