“These ain’t big pillow gloves”- Israel Adesanya sends an ominous warning to former foe Alex Pereira
Israel Adesanya & Alex Pereira
Israel Adesanya is one of the top MMA fighters in the world and is currently the UFC middleweight champion. Adesanya has issued a warning to Brazilian MMA fighter Alex Pereira, who defeated Israel in a kickboxing match twice. Since his defeat against Pereira, Adesanya has improved a lot and also started competing in MMA. Alex has also started his MMA career and has been successful till now. He has a professional record of 5 wins and 4 losses and he will enter the octagon again at UFC 276 to fight Sean Strickland.
Israel Adesanya has been looking to get his revenge against Alex in the UFC and he is even willing to fight Alex, despite claims that he is too inexperienced in MMA to fight for the UFC title. Israel, in the press conference of UFC 276, talked about the fight and Israel said he can’t wait to punch Alex inside the octagon. Adesanya also talked about the experience issue and pointed that Jiri Prochazka won his title just after 3 fights in the UFC.
Israel said: “This isn’t kickboxing, this is mixed martial arts. These ain’t big pillow gloves, these are four ounce deadly weapons that I can’t wait to drive through his face after I go through Jared Cannonier. I look forward to either one of those fights. I don’t like this narrative of, ‘It’s too quick, it’s too quick for Pereira,’ but look, Jiri Prochazka just fought for and won the belt in his third fight in the UFC.”
“I beat him two times already”- Alex Pereira plans to snatch the middleweight title from Israel Adesanya
Alex has been showing incredible skills in MMA after having a successful run in kickboxing. Alex made his MMA debut in 2015 and has competed 6 times in the octagon. Pereira made his UFC debut in 2021 and has 2 wins in the promotion since then. Pereira, in a recent interview, expressed his desire to earn the UFC middleweight title, and he claimed that regardless of who is the champion, he will beat him to become the middleweight champion.
Pereira has made his goal to become the UFC middleweight champion, and he has cleared that he does not care whether he fights Israel for the belt or not. Pereira said if he were to fight Adesanya for the middleweight belt, he is sure the result would be the same as the last two fights. Alex defeated Israel by a unanimous decision in the first fight and even managed to knockout Israel in the second fight.
Alex said: “Well, if the fight is tomorrow, me and Israel Adesanya, absolutely I would beat him. But I know I just got into the organization. I have a path to follow here before I get the belt. So my focus is to become the world champion. So if he’s there or not, that’s where I wanna get. Let’s see who’s there by the time I get there. But when I get there and he’s still there, I will have no fear at all of taking his belt. The one who got to be worried about is him because I beat him two times already.”
