“I am gonna slam this b****” – Israel Adesanya promises to avenge against his nemesis Alex Pereira at UFC 281
Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya
Israel Adesanya has become one of the biggest UFC superstars in the modern history of the company. The Nigerian won the title back in 2019 by beating Robert Whittaker and now has defended his title against all the top fighters in the division. Izzy is one of those few champions who are willing to take part in more fights without caring much about the risk of losing the belt. This year, Izzy has already fought twice and against Pereira will be Adesanya’s third fight of 2022.
This just shows the consistency and confidence of the ‘Last Stylebender’ in his game plan and skills. However, Izzy has been facing a lot of criticism lately for not putting out champion fights and playing the fights too safe. Fight fans want to see Izzy go back to his old self where he used to look for knockouts every time he fought.

“I run towards the fire” – Israel Adesanya talks about his confident approach towards all his opponents in the past
Adesanya recently did an interview with ESPN MMA and it was featured in the popular DC and RC show hosted by Daniel Cormier and Ryan Clark.
In the video, Adesanya discussed his upcoming title fight with Alex Pereira and his preparations for it. The fighter also shed light on his old rivalry with Pereira.
Izzy mentioned that he has never run away from tough opponents and has faced them every time the UFC has asked him to and this fight will be the same too. Adesanya revealed that when he got beaten by Pereira in kickboxing he never thought of getting retribution because he doesn’t like to hold any grudges. However, everything has worked out on its own and now he is going to do his best to maximize this opportunity to get his revenge.
“I have always picked the guy that no one wants to fight. The guy everyone runs away from, I run towards. So yeah, I run towards the fire and this is no different and again after he beat me in Brazil, I never had any plans of trying to get revenge or anything like that coz I don’t hold on to things, I let go of things. But again I’m telling you, the universe has presented this to me and it’s right there. It’s the perfect ally woop and I’m gonna slam this bi***,” said Adesanya.
This new rivalry in UFC has gained huge attention from the fans who were tired of Izzy dominating every opponent he has faced. Many fight fans are also confident that Pereira has what it takes to beat Izzy and become the new lightweight champion of the world. Nevertheless, it is going to be an absolute banger of a fight.
