At the recent UFC 287 event, Israel Adesanya beat Alex Pereira via knockout in round 2. The Nigerian was known to lose three times against Pereira in their previous bouts. This was a perfect closure for ‘The Last Stylebender.’ Other than knocking his opponent out, Izzy was noticed doing something more vicious than that.
In the celebration, Adesanya was seen pointing to Alex Pereira‘s son and mocking him. ‘The Stylebender’ stiffened his body and fell to the ground, knocking Pereira. Izzy seemed to get revenge on his son as he did the same years ago to Adesanya.
Israel Adesanya got the job done after immense pressure for UFC 287. Despite losing three times to Pereira, Izzy managed to bounce back and get a KO victory. Adesanya managed to capture the middleweight belt and is currently the champion.
How did Israel Adesanya get his revenge on Alex Pereira’s son?
After Israel Adesanya’s brutal KO victory over Alex Pereira, he got his sweet revenge. The fighter is seen acting ‘dead’, falling to the ground as he points at Alex’s son. Fans thought this was a dirty move from the champ. They felt like doing this to a child was out-of-pocket.
Alex Pereira’s son is no innocent as he was seen doing the same thing to Israel after he lost in the ‘Glory of Heroes‘ tournament. The young man hits himself and pretends to get knocked out in front of Izzy. This was a motivating factor for Adesanya to win his fight.
In an episode of the MMA Hour, Adesanya had said, “I kinda looked at him [Pereira’s son] and laughed.” “What am I gonna do, stomp his head?” joked Israel. Seemingly, this had been on Izzy’s mind as he remembered to return the favor years later.
Israel Adesanya is the current middleweight champion. Only time can tell what he gets to do next in his career. After this, he might go on to defend the title against other strong middleweight challengers on the roster.
