Israel Adesanya remains deeply focused on his rivalry against Dricus Du Plessis. The extent of his focus became evident when he started training with Mark Zuckerberg in the last few days. Zuckerberg could face Elon Musk in a potential fight, and Adesanya revealed the reason why he chose to train with Zuckerberg instead of Musk. He went on Twitter to tell the reason.

Israel Adesanya wrote, “We both have South Africans to deal with.” Both Musk and Du Plessis hail from South Africa. Hence it became an easy choice for Adesanya to side with the Meta CEO. Adesanya and Zuckerberg trained alongside Alexander Volkanovski after the conclusion of UFC 290. At the PPV, Volk defended his title against Yair Rodriguez. The rivalry between Adesanya and Dricus could go out of hand as the champion continues using racial slurs to promote the fight.

This could be the first time in a while since fighters used race-baiting as a tactic to use in their trash-talking games. Adesanya first called him a c**cker during an interview. Du Plessis continues to point out that Adesanya left Africa long ago and cannot be considered an African. Fight fans are excited to see how the rivalry plays out between Adesanya and Du Plessis.

On the other hand, Elon vs. Zuckerberg continues to gain steam. Recently, Elon trained with former welterweight champion George St-Pierre, which made Zuckerberg seek out a current champion in the UFC. His training alongside Volk and Adesanya can massively help his striking skills. Only time will tell if the bout between the billionaires ever gets made.

At UFC 290, against all odds, Dricus Du Plessis defeated Robert Whittaker to become the next title challenger. Champion Israel Adesanya entered the ring for a face-off and delivered a tirade of racial slurs.

At the post-fight press conference, Dricus spoke about the incident. He said, “That’s not how a champion behaves. That’s not how a man behaves. He’s behaving like a child. Conduct yourself like a champion.” (H/T MMA Fighting)

The racial slurs did not sit well with the fans as they condemned such behavior. The duo could face each other in Australia this year. Adesanya will clear out the middleweight division if he can defeat Du Plessis at the PPV.
