“More damage in sparring than fights” – Israel Adesanya trolls Sean Strickland ahead of Alex Pereira fight at UFC 276
Israel Adesanya trolls Sean Strickland for his sparring videos
Israel Adesanya is already looking at his future challengers as he gives out his predictions for the much-anticipated fight between Sean Strickland and Alex Pereira at UFC 276.
UFC 276 is stacked from top to bottom. There are several storylines that make this pay-per-view card amazing. One of the most interesting storylines in this PPV card is the two middleweight fights on the main card. Israel Adesanya, champion of the middleweight had been lapping around the division for the past two years and now has got the opportunity to defend his belt against a new title contender, Jared Cannonier. Fighting in the undercard is Adesanya’s nemesis from his kickboxing days, Alex Pereira.
Alex remains to be the only fighter to have knocked out Izzy in a professional fight. The Brazilian has seen a rise like very few as he takes on Sean Strickland, the #4 fighter in the division in the very third fight of his UFC career. Adesanya recently sat down with his fellow headliner from UFC 276, Alexander Volkanovski to break down the fights in the upcoming pay-per-view card. Adesanya talks about the middleweight showdown between Pereira and Strickland.
Israel Adesanya gives his thoughts on “idiot” Sean Strickland
“Sean Strickland is a bad motherf**ker. Like literally. He’s bad, a rotten apple,” trolled Adesanya talking about his undercard fight. “But I like the guy, he is funny and he likes to talk sh*t as well. His standup…I’ve seen him do more damage on YouTube in his sparring than his fights, let’s put it that way.” Strickland is notorious for throwing a beating on his sparring partners which is frowned upon by most in the combat sports community. Adesanya takes a dig at Sean for his sparring sessions.
“I’ve seen his sparring footage and I would never spar with an idiot like that,” said Adesanya talking about Strickland. Volkanovski is going with the rising contender Alex Pereira to win the fight against Strickland in the three-round fight at UFC 276. Pereira is currently 2-0 in the UFC with a stunning finish against Andreas Michailidis and a decision win against Bruno Silva.
Adesanya on the other hand is going with Strickland to win the fight against his nemesis. Izzy believes Sean’s experience plays a huge role in the upcoming fight as Alex is only 5-1 in his mixed martial arts career. Strickland is on an amazing winning streak and has not lost a fight since 2018. Who do you think will win the potential middleweight contender fight?
