“We fight for the people” – Jared Gordan wants Paddy Pimblett fight after the scouser’s amazing UFC London performance
Jared Gordan calls out Paddy Pimblett for fight
Paddy Pimblett truly stole the show this past weekend with his fight at UFC London and his post-fight speech. Every fight fan around the world was truly amazed by the scouser and lightweight fighter Jared Gordan is all in to fight the UK star in his next bout.
Jared Gordan and Paddy Pimblett were at one point supposed to fight each other at this year’s UFC London card but the fight never seemed to have materialized. Both the fighters are on the rise and the Queens native wants to make up for his canceled fight against the Liverpool star. Paddy’s recent performance at UFC London has truly impressed Gordan and he is down for a fight after August 20th.
Prior to facing Jordan Leavitt this past weekend, Paddy took on Rodrigo Vargas at the O2 Arena in March. Jared was initially proposed as a contender for Pimblett but the UK lightweight turned down the fight. Jared, after Paddy’s performance, put a tweet in an attempt to gain the UK star’s attention and proposed a fight.
Jared Gordan touched by Paddy Pimblett’s post-fight speech about mental health
“Paddy, I’m sorry for your loss. My best friend took his life too and it hurts. @danawhite wanted the fight. After I beat a Brazilian legend on August 20th I say we fight for the people out there struggling, and let them know they’re loved,” wrote Gordan in his latest tweet. Jared also attached a snippet of Dana revealing that Jared would be a potential opponent for Paddy The Baddy.
Leading up to the fight, Dana White, the UFC president, revealed in an interview with Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports that Jared is the fighter UFC is looking to match Paddy with. Pimblett however turned the fight and chose to dance with Rodrigo Vargas. Pimblett revealed that he will fight a veteran like Gordan only when his contract improves to the level of his opponent.
Gordan is now booked to take on Leonardo Santos in a lightweight fight at UFC 278 pay-per-view event. Jared is 18-5 in his professional career and has fought some of the best in the division.
