“I believe Taila comes out with victory”- Jessica Andrade makes an interesting prediction about the title fight between Taila Santos and Valentina Shevchenko

Taila Santos

UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko is all set to make her title defense against rising contender Taila Santos who is 19-1 in her professional mixed martial arts career and is one of the most dangerous flyweights in the division. However, like any other opponent, Valentina is expected to cruise past Santos like her previous challengers.

With her win over Taila Santos, Valentina would have almost wiped off the entire division. Shevchenko has a record of 22-3-0 in her professional mixed martial arts career. The fighter has previously challenged the champion of the bantamweight division but was not able to get the champ-champ status, she claimed it would be inevitable for her to move up once again and challenge the champ for her throne.

Dana White is particularly excited for this fight because he believes Taila Santos is a tough matchup for Valentina. Dana says not many people acknowledge Taila as a threat to Valentina’s throne, but her toughness and skillsets are more than enough to make Valentina work for her money.

Shevchenko’s former opponent, Jessia Andrade is keeping a close eye on this fight, and she too believes Taila would pose a real threat to the champion. Talking to MMA Fighting, she said, “I think Valentina is very tough. It’s not because I lost to Valentina, but the level of experience she has in fighting and martial arts is so high for a girl that doesn’t train with too many people. She’s so talented, but Taila is on a rise.”

“If Taila studies her game well, maintains the right distance, and connects with good strikes, I believe Taila comes out with the victory. Taila is very tough, but Valentina is special, man. You have to go in there knowing she’s unique. You either don’t give her any respect and go for the kill right away, or you stick to the game plan. If you move one tiny bit away from your game play, she gets the advantage and then you’re in deep trouble,” Andrade concluded.
