Drug testing is a part of the combat sports culture. This, however, can be an event that most fighters don’t look forward to enthusiastically. USADA conducted numerous drug tests on former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka. Recently, Prochazka provided a hilarious account of his experience with the promotion’s newly implemented anti-doping program. 

Prochazka didn’t hold back when describing the drug test he underwent. He is known for his candid nature and stoic remarks. The Czech fighter likened the process to a familiar childhood experience and school days.

When providing the sample, I felt like I was in kindergarten when we had to pull our pants down all the way to our ankles.

The comparison to a kindergarten scenario was undoubtedly an exaggeration. However, the former champion didn’t stop there. He playfully suggested that this was indeed a ‘thorough inspection.’ This testing highlighted the stringent measures the UFC has adopted to maintain the integrity of the sport.

The charismatic Czech fighter didn’t mince words in a recent interview. He believed the “early end” to his previous bout against Alex Pereira could work in his favor. He felt a dominant win over Rakic could lead him straight to a title shot.

I believe, after that last fight [at UFC 295], after that early end of the fight [at UFC 295], if I win next week [against Rakic] and I hope and believe I'm able to win... I deserve a title shot.

The “early end” he referred to is the controversial stoppage in his title fight against Pereira. Many felt the referee may have been too quick on the trigger. Prochazka succumbed to Pereira’s leg kicks and power shots despite starting strong. This led to a second-round knockout that left fans and fighters divided. Only time will tell if Prochazka returns to the title picture.
