The plethora of fighters within the UFC sees many monikers – such as notorious, beast, predator, and so on. But there’s only one unique samurai so far. And UFC’s one-and-only “Samurai” Jiri Prochazka accepted a bout callout from Aleksandar Rakic recently. This was despite a knockout loss at UFC 295. The light heavyweight contender’s unique zen lifestyle and training garnered a lot of attention subsequently. But his recent feat atop a bicycle is what has taken the internet by storm lately.
The 29-4-1 striker out of Jetsaam Gym Brno recently channeled his inner “Tony Ferguson“, for a training session. The fighter’s unconventional training in the woods left fight fans in splits. The comparison drew from “El Cucuy” and his training methods. Now, a similar feat has some similar effects.
A recently surfaced post on X (by MMA coverage site @BloodyElbow) shows the fighter on a bicycle. Prochazka apparently cycled 105mi, as the post mentioned. A prime reaction jested “USADA punching the air they can’t test this man rn.”
The fighter models his life in the disciplines of 61-duel “Kensei” and philosopher Miyamoto Musashi. But Prochazka’s tale isn’t without vices. The fighter had fallen victim to USADA’s rigorous testing pool, before the split. Hence comes the dig at USADA for not being able to regulate his PED intake.
Fans react to Jiri Prochazka’s new snapshot on cycle
Despite a recent skid at UFC 295, fighter Jiri Prochazka is ready for his next face-off. The fighter recently accepted a fight with 14-3 Aleksandar Rakic, as early as February-March.
Prochazka, the live-model Samurai of combat sports, is characteristically infamous for his unconventional training methods. But the fighter covering 105 miles on a cycle has garnered a lot of responses.
Check out a few reactions to this bewildering feat, in the tweets down below:
A handful of fans have gibed at Prochazka for lagging in boxing fundamentals and having an exposed high chin. Alongside, they have imbibed his recent loss to Alex Pereira. Concurrently though, some have also invoked Tony Ferguson into the equation.
Ferguson recently fired back at critics over training with Ex-Navy SEAL David Goggins ahead of UFC 296. This accordingly included an outdoor session in the woods, along with a whole lot of cardio. Now, MMA enthusiasts have jeered at Prochazka for the same.
