Joanna Jedrzejczyk has more in common with her American Top Team gym partners than being on the losing end of their most recent fights, the obvious one being their shared hatred of Colby Covington. In a recent interview with Combat Sports on Fanatics View, the former Strawweight champion defended her Teammates’ actions at the Papi Steakhouse late in March of this year.

Colby who was out with members of the Youtube channel, Nelk was assaulted by Jorge Masvidal a few weeks after their fight at UFC 272. The fight saw Covington cruise through to a unanimous decision victory over Jorge, with that latter having little to no answers for Covington’s wrestling. It was however the lead-up to the fight that apparently led to a brawl outside the octagon.

Covington repeatedly took shots at Masvidal’s family, calling him a “Deadbeat Dad” and posting photos with Masvidal’s ex-wife. Available footage of the incident shows Covington outside the restaurant, drink in hand inquiring how his former teammate knew about his whereabouts that night.

Jedrzejczyk said, “I have to be politically correct, I offer Jorge that next time he should call me and I go with him.” Letting out a chuckle. She continued, “I understand Jorge, you know he’s a role model” referring to his guidance at the ATT Gym. “I don’t know, if I had children, I would do the same, I don’t know,” said the former Champion.

Their bout is set to be a three-round rematch of their epic 2020, 5-round fight that was voted fight of the year. Both Zhang Weili and Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be looking to get back in the winning column after the latter lost her title and subsequent rematch to Rose Namajunas. The bout will take place in Singapore on the Glover vs Jiri undercard.
