Middleweight fighter Joe Pyfer is not concerned about facing Abdul Razak Alhassan in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 229 (UFC Vegas 80). Pyfer remains confident in his ability to win the bout. However, he delved into the topic of money during his media appearance before the fight. Pyfer believed he needed to gain financial stability before competing against the top 15 fighters of his division.

Nobody has to understand in this room. Nobody in the UFC Team has to understand in this room. I come from nothing. I come from being dirt poor. Trying to figure out a lot of things in life that i didn’t have guidance for unfortunately. If I’m going to fight the top 15, i want to work towards financial security. I do not want to be one of these fighters who’s done fighting and broken hearted. Giving his everything for the minimum ” said Pyfer. Joe Pyfer might be looking at the fight game like Sean O’Malley did. The bantamweight champion saw the fight game as a business to make money. Similarly, Joe Pyfer wants to gain financial stability before competing against the top fighters in the middleweight division.

Meerschaert is a really good fighter. He possesses good grappling and has numerous submission wins in his career. Meerschaert stood his ground with a good stance and follow-ups. But a big right-left combination from Pyfer put him to the mat early. Instead of being able to execute a full recovery on his feet, Meerschaert seemed too hurt to get back on his feet. Pyfer landed huge ground and pound until the referee stopped the fight. Check out how fans reacted to the fight:
