Joe Rogan in an episode of JRE spoke with 2nd-ranked welterweight, Belal Muhammad. The topic of the Islamic faith and its influence on the Dagestani fighters were discussed. Rogan had many things to say about Khabib Nuramagomedov and his crew following the faith. This is what he said in the podcast episode 134 with Belal Muhammad:
There is something to whatever Khabib is doing that is not just technique. It's not just that they have technique. It's not just that they are tough guys. There is also this devout sort of ideology that they have ascribed to that they live their life by. They're so devout in their religious belief. They have so much confidence. It's almost like that's all taken care of. Like they can just concentrate on what they do. God has a plan for everything.
Rogan was the one who interviewed Khabib Nurmagomedov after the infamous UFC 229 PPV. It was when “The Eagle” jumped out of the cage to attack Dillon Danis who was in Conor McGregor‘s corner. Moreover, Rogan was a vocal supporter of Nurmagomedov in the aftermath of the event that criticized the lightweight champion’s actions.

Joe Rogan does not commentate on international PPV nowadays and he was a notable absentee at UFC 294 when Islam Makhachev, Nurmagomedov’s protege, defended the lightweight title against Alexander Volkanovski. However, he did a fight companion on JRE.
Joe Rogan explains why Islamic fighters from Dagestan are dominant
In a JRE episode with friend and fellow comedian, Bryan Callen, Joe Rogan deeply praised the fighters from Dagestan. Moreover, he also explained why they are the most dominant fighters. The former Fear Factor host said that the most disciplined fighters are also very religious. Rogan had interesting things to say about the fighters from Khabib Nurmagomedov’s camp.
This is what Joe Rogan said about the Islamic fighters out of Dagestan in the JRE episode with Bryan Callen.
All they care about is family, religion, training. They don't chase girls, they don't drink. They are just training constantly and they are the most dominant.

Rogan was of the opinion that they don’t have any distractions, as they strictly adhere to the religion of Islam. Facts complement Rogan’s words. Khabib Nurmagomedov retired undefeated in the UFC and his protege, Islam Makhachev is the current champion.
“The Eagle’s” cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov is an undefeated Bellator lightweight champion. Umar Nurmagomedov, the older brother of Usman is an undefeated prospect in the UFC’s bantamweight division. Considering the success of these fighters, it is hard to ignore Rogan’s assertions.
