The UFC returned to Toronto, Canada for UFC 297 this year. As such, the Canadian fans showed extreme support for the event and the fighters participating. Likewise, the atmosphere in the Scotiabank Arena was electric. However, it took a turn when a part of the crowd started a political chant opposing Canada’s current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Now, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan sided alongside the crowd and expressed his views on Trudeau.
In the UFC 297 stream on his YouTube channel, Joe Rogan addressed the expletive chant from the UFC 297 crowd. He agreed with the chants and opposed Justin Trudeau himself. Also, he wanted Canada to return to the state it was before Trudeau became the President. As such, he encouraged another political leader, Pierre Oliver. Here is what he said:
Fuck Trudeau! Yeah. Canada get your sh** together. Come back. Come back to what you used to be. That Pierre Oliver guy. That guy makes senseJoe Rogan via JRE Fight Companion
Joe Rogan always expressed his opinions in an unfiltered way, and he didn’t hold back from criticizing Canada’s current President. Likewise, earlier this week, UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland opined about the matter and voiced out for free speech. This even had the crowd going. As such, the crowd reignited their displeasure with Justin Trudeau and expressed it with ‘f**k Trudeau’ chants during UFC 297.
While political differences are often encouraged among citizens to build a democratic country, mingling it with sports events was a bit sketchy. However, the UFC 297 crowd didn’t care about the consequences and wanted to let out their frustration with the current government.
Joe Rogan goes off on Justin Trudeau
Joe Rogan, in his JRE podcast with Derek, a fitness entrepreneur based in Canada, expressed displeasure with the current Canadian government. Rogan said he avoided traveling to Canada for a long time due to Justin Trudeau’s approach to leading the country. As such, he mentioned instances when he boiled against Trudeau.
During the podcast, Joe Rogan mentioned the trucker rally incident and the censorship implemented and completely opposed Justin Trudeau. Further, he slammed the Canadian Prime Minister for the country’s gun policies and claimed Canada went down the ‘Communism path.’ Here is what he said:
I don’t go up there anymore. What they’ve done up there, what they did with the trucker rally and what Trudeau is doing with guns and what they’re trying to clamp down on censorship on the Internet. That guy can eat s***... They’re sliding down that dangerous road of communism.Joe Rogan (via JRE Podcast)
Even many Canadian citizens agreed alongside Joe Rogan as they opined on his comments on social media. As such, Rogan stood up for people and expressed his opinions despite any political pressures.
