UFC commentator Joe Rogan is a very passionate and ardent fan of the sport of MMA. Rogan believes and has publically stated many a time that the sport of MMA is superior to any other sport in the world.
In an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe puts forward this argument. Joe Rogan was discussing Conor Mcgregor‘s iconic 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo, with writer and film producer Mark Boal. Joe puts forth a strong case for the sports monopoly on the title of the greatest sport of all time.
Using Conor McGregor as the case study, Joe Rogan clarifies some misunderstandings people may associate with the sport. “People don’t understand what it is, because they look at it from the outside (saying) ‘it’s violence and it’s horrible‘,” Rogan says. Instead, he argues, that it is “high-level problem-solving with dire physical consequences.”
He argues how team sports like football do not cater to an individual since there are multiple contributors to the desired goal. But MMA is a singular sport, for the individual and therefore the wildest sport any person can partake in. “Combat sports are… they’re what all sports aspire to,” Rogan says. He illustrates this point through a comparison between physical confrontation and a game of basketball. “If someone wins a basketball game, they can always say, ‘Yeah, well, I could’ve kicked your a**… Nobody gets their a** kicked (in MMA) and goes, ‘Yeah, well, I’ll f**k you up at basketball.’ Because no one cares…”
Joe Rogan vs Jake Paul

Joe Rogan has complimented Jake Paul‘s skills as a boxer on multiple occasions. He has spoken about how people put down Jake and his brother Logan Paul due to their background as Youtubers. By doing so, they disregard the efforts and dedication the two brothers have put in to hone the skills of the sport.
In one of the episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe mentioned how he wouldn’t doubt Jake Paul overpowering him if they ever dueled in the ring. “He would probably f*** me up. He’s a really good boxer,” Rogan said. When guest Andrew Schulz suggested kickboxing rather than boxing where Rogan is relatively better, Rogan mentioned that age would set him back. Rogan’s knee pains won’t help him fight Paul in a kickboxing match.
Jake Paul has been vocal about his desire to face high-level opponents and some of the big names in the fighting industry. Paul has been actively pushing fights with professional boxers and mixed martial artists. He fought UFC fighters like Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva while putting up a great fight against professional boxer Tommy Fury, who won the fight by a split decision. Jake will be fighting Nate Diaz this August and has expressed the desire to face more boxers like Canelo Alveraz and Mike Tyson.
