Rogan is joined by fellow comedian Tim Dillon in the #1860 episode of the Joe Rogan Experience. Both comics talked about American politics, comedy, and Hollywood. Tim Dillon also gave a hilarious rant about the future of America. According to the UFC commentator, it is a double standard on their part to promote guns in their movies, even glorify it and then act as anti-gun in real life.

Rogan’s podcast is exclusively available on Spotify for free. His podcast gets over 100millions downloads in a month. The podcasts feature guests from all walks of life from comics to academians to politicians to celebrities to anyone who has an interesting story to tell.

The UFC commentator is known for expressing his opinions without any filter on his podcast. He has to sometimes suffer a lot of backlash from the media for his opinions too. However, his audience loves listening to him for his takes on political events. He also has a lot of stories to share with his audience that ranges from hysterical to terrifying.

While discussing about Hollywood, Joe stated, “Isn’t it f*king wild that Hollywood, in general, is very anti-gun, but they promote guns more than any other media on the planet? All their best movies, whether it’s ‘The Gray Man,’ or whether you’re watching ‘The Terminal List’ or ‘Mission Impossible.”

“It’s all ‘Guns save the day.’ Guns kill aliens, guns kill werewolves, guns kill everyone. Everyone bad gets killed by guns.”  Rogan then took a jibe at Hollywood for their anti-gun stance in recent times he said, “‘But guns are bad and you shouldn’t have guns.’ It’s crazy.”

The guest chimed in on Rogan’s point by expressing, “Well, these are also the same people that live in these 20,000-square-foot homes and fly private jets, but talk endlessly about climate change. The same people.” The host agreed to this point and stated, “Because if they start paying you the kind of money they make to ‘play pretend,’ they start paying you that kind of money to play ‘dress-up’ — $80 million a year, $40 million a year, you start to go crazy.”

Dillon further points out that the stars developed a cognitive dissonance where they see themselves as something completely different from what other people see. “They don’t view that as hypocrisy, They view it as like, ‘Yeah, guns are bad, but we can make them good.’” He pointed out.

The UFC commentator replies to this point by remarking on the hypocrisy of the Hollywood stars, “It doesn’t seem odd if you think about what they do, they make fake things. So of course they’re fake.”

The comics were talking in connection with some of the star’s stance on gun control laws in the U.S while they themselves glorify guns on screen in their moves. Earlier this year, 200 Hollywood actors, writers, producers and directors signed a pledge vowing to portray guns in a responsible way onscreen.
