Joe Rogan gets real about CNN canceling him online but failing miserably in the process. In 2021, Rogan got into controversy after it was claimed that he was spreading misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines. On top of that, Rogan’s most controversial remarks from his podcast history, including a compilation of him using offensive language, such as the N-word, were used by many networks to cancel him.
One of the biggest networks to do so was CNN. Many reporters from CNN wrote articles and published opinions on Rogan and his online behaviors, which, according to many, were alarming. However, despite their best efforts, Rogan didn’t face any repercussions. In one of his podcast shows, Rogan went all out and addressed his feud with CNN, saying that they couldn’t do any harm to him.
He said: “I’m not on a network. You can’t get rid of me. Second of all, I have a lot of money. So, I can just like it, even if I stop working. You’re not gonna hurt now. I figure something out. This is not a different thing. Like you are in a different landscape and I don’t think you understand. Where you are at. You’re playing this game where you don’t even understand the numbers…Two million subscribers in a month, I gained.”
Rogan explained that CNN can’t just cancel him as he has a huge reach and money to back his presence. Rogan warned the network about playing a game that they didn’t understand and how he actually benefited from the rivalry and gained huge subscriptions.

In his career, Joe Rogan has encountered significant controversy and has been frequently subject to cancellation by various individuals. In one of his interviews with Mike Tyson, he shared his perspective on the increasing prevalence of cancellation culture in our society. Rogan contended that this culture had reached its pinnacle, leading to substantial real-life consequences, including the loss of people’s jobs and livelihoods.
He said: “Well, what it is, is a culture of people being able to express themselves and when people can express themselves, they can change the way other people feel about things. They can get people upset at things. You could say things that you’ve never been able to say before. You have, like, so many people have the ability to express themselves now, so it’s like you can get someone fired. Like if you decide that you’re gonna pile onto someone because you don’t like what they said or what they did, you can get them fired. That’s a new thing in history.” on Hot Box’in with Mike.
Rogan also provided some perspective on how the practice of publicly criticizing individuals has evolved over time. He acknowledged that the rise of social media has greatly facilitated the masses’ ability to do so more easily than ever.
