Joe Rogan recently did a fight companion episode on JRE with Brendan Schaub, Eddie Bravo, and Bryan Callen for UFC 294. Rogan does not do international PPVs. Hence, he was absent at the commentary booth for the event, with Paul Felder taking his spot. All four in the fight companion was visibly intoxicated and said weird things.

Eddie Bravo was the one who said the outrageous thing during the fight companion. It was related to a fake story about the former President of the USA, Abraham Lincoln, traveling to Dagestan, Russia to wrestle. This is what he said about Abraham Lincoln:

Joe Rogan, Schaub, and Bryan Callen met the comment with laughter. However, that did not stop Bravo from elaborating his joke as a fact. Bravo said about a fake story of Lincoln traveling to England and from there to the Middle East and Russia to wrestle. However, nobody believed what Bravo had to say and dismissed the founder of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu.

It also needs to be noted that Zabit Magomedsharipov, the retired UFC featherweight, resembles Abraham Lincoln. Many, including retired MMA referee “Big” John McCarthy, have even jokingly called Magomedsharipov as a clone of Lincoln. McCarthy was also disappointed when news of Magomedsharipov retiring broke out. Magomedsharipov was deemed to become the next featherweight champion before his sudden retirement. He had some health reasons to retire from MMA. He fought six times in the UFC, winning all. Additionally, he won post-fight bonuses in 4 of those six fights.

When Ariel Helwani told Zabit Magomedsharipov that he looked like Abraham Lincoln

UFC 223 was mainly known for two reasons. It was when Khabib Nurmagomedov won the vacant UFC lightweight title. Additionally, it was also the PPV debut of Zabit Magomedsharipov. It was his third fight in the UFC, and he impressed everyone with his “ninja” like striking against Kyle Bochniak. Even more impressive was the revelation that he broke his hand before the fight.

After the victory, Magomedsharipov, his manager Ali Abdelaziz, and his translator visited Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour. During the interview, Helwani asked an interesting to the Dagestani fighter. This is what Helwani asked.

You look like Abraham Lincoln. You like this?

Interestingly, Abraham Lincoln was an elite wrestler in his youth. Moreover, there are even claims that he was undefeated in wrestling. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame even inducted Lincoln as an outstanding wrestler in 1992. Lincoln’s wrestling accolades were referenced during the recent JRE Fight Companion episode by Eddie Bravo.
