Valentina Shevchenko was the long-reigning featherweight champion in the women’s flyweight division. However, she lost the title to Alexa Grasso and drew against the same opponent in the rematch. In addition to martial arts, Shevchenko is an expert at shooting guns. Joe Rogan once spoke of it on his podcast.
Joe Rogan spoke highly of Shevchenko’s shooting skills on the podcast episode that featured Jack Carr, a former Navy SEALS officer and thriller novelist. Carr had at the time competed at a Sniper competition with Shevchenko as the partner. The team bagged the second position in the competition, and Shevchenko surprised Carr with her performance. Nonetheless, this is what Rogan said of Shevchenko.
She's (Valentina Shevchenko) awesome... She has some serious gun skills... She's a scary lady... She's an avid shooter... She's really skilledJoe Rogan via JRE

Carr went on to reveal that they had beaten elite military veterans to bag the second place. However, a team of a BMX rider and a fisherman bagged the first prize in the competition. Rogan went on to state that he had heard of Shevcehnko’s exceptional shooting ability from his peers.
Shevchenko recently had a feud with Sean Strickland for his misogynistic remarks on Paige VanZant. Interestingly, she suggested a shooting competition to settle the feud. However, it did not materialize. Strickland has always come at odds with many of the UFC female fighters due to his offensive remarks.
Joe Rogan found similarities with Valentina Shevchenko’s title loss with Chris Weidman’s
Joe Rogan was in the commentary booth at UFC 285 when Valentina Shevchenko lost her title. Shevchenko threw a spinning back-kick, but the challenger, Alexa Grasso, had anticipated the move. Grasso choked Shevchenko in what was a massive upset victory. Shevchenko was en route to victory before Grasso cunningly sank in a choke.

Rogan was also in the commentary booth at UFC 194 when Conor McGregor knocked out Jose Aldo. Moreover, in the co-main event, Chris Weidman lost the middleweight title to Luke Rockhold. Weidman via ground and pound TKO after Rockhold took him down after Weidman’s spinning back kick missed. Rogan found it very odd to see two title reigns end with a similar move and also in the fourth round. He spoke about a JRE episode that featured UFC strawweight Gillian Robertson.

Unlike Shevchenko, Weidman was en route to a loss before the TKO loss. Rockhold had gained the upper hand on Weidman and had even scored a 10-8 in round 3. He had also won the second after Weidman won round 1 on all the scorecards. Shevchenko led the fight two rounds to 1 before the finish.
