Joe Rogan feels war against Russia will cripple the US, fears for Nuclear Annihilation
Rogan fears an attack from Russia
Joe Rogan pondered about the possibility of a nuclear war with guests Francis Foster and Konstantin Kisin on the latest episode of the JRE. A main fear being the vulnerability of Putin and how it might lead to the end of the known world.
Joe Rogan initially started off trying to understand Foster’s view that we are a point in time where humans can use the artificial intelligence we already possess and can facilitate the end of our world way before any sentient AI plans to do so. This may not always be a purposeful act as even a small mistake can lead to a massive downfall.
Foster tried to explain how this is the first point in history where a simple mistake is enough to cause a global meltdown due to the tech we currently possess. He goes on to explain as technology gets more sophisticated the risk that a simple mistake can end it all rises along with it.
Joe then asked Foster on his view about how possible a nuclear attack from Russia was if they were to be pushed. “I take pushed in a context of personal threat to the life of Vladimir Putin, ” said Foster as he explained his idea of pushing Russia, “at that point yes he will use the weapons but if the signal gets sent is where things get murky” he said, explaining how there is an entire chain of command that the order goes through before a nuke is launched.
Joe Rogan fears for America’s Power Grid in a war situation
Unlike the popular myth that it all relies on pressing a single button, multiple rank and file officers are involved in the process of sending down the order and if any one of these objects, the whole operation could derail. An example of this was seen during the Cuban middle crisis when Vice admiral Vasily Arkhipov refused to launch the nukes stationed in his submarine off the coast of Cuba.
The trio then went on to talk about how a foreign power funding a nation under siege can be perceived as being at war by the agressor (Russia) Foster explained that the idea of Russia itself is that it’s under attack by the West and the invasion of Ukraine is portrayed as the first step in fighting against these western powers.
Joe has in the past expressed his horror to the use of Nuclear bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan during the second World War. He ended the segment by acknowledging how despite being a superpower, the US has many vulnerabilities that can be exploited in the event of all-out war, mainly the ancient power grid the country relies on.
