Joe Rogan‘s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” is renowned for its diverse and extensive discussions that delve into a wide array of subjects. His show features a wide range of guests, including scientists, comedians, actors, authors, and experts from various fields. This eclectic approach fosters in-depth, unscripted conversations on a broad spectrum of ideas and viewpoints, making the podcast popular for its versatility and the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics.
Carrying forward this open and diverse culture, Rogan recently hosted a fascinating episode with the renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. During their conversation, deGrasse Tyson delved into the simple tricks employed by casinos to keep their patrons engaged.
He pointed out that casinos take notice when you’re on a winning streak or hit the jackpot. At that point, the house employs a clever tactic. “They give you free drinks. They got a comely server to come over to you and say,’ would you like a free cocktail?.. To stir chemicals into your brain to disrupt the little bit of objective reality that you are experiencing with these inhibitions.”
DeGrasse Tyson further revealed that the casinos have a system in place to identify big winners and quickly send servers to ply them with free drinks. This strategy aims to manipulate the winners by increasing their dopamine levels. Rogan agreed with this observation, acknowledging that such actions can indeed lead to heightened dopamine levels among customers.
