Michael Phelps is widely considered to be the greatest Olympian of all time. Phelps has been frequently praised by prominent UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
Phelps’ swimming career has yielded a record-breaking 28 Olympic medals. During an episode of his famed podcast, Rogan remarked how remarkable Phelps’ Olympic medal total was and even replies to a viral photo of Michael Phelps and his challenger, Chad le Clos, on his show.
Joe says in an episode on The Joe Rogan Experience, “There is a crazy picture of him in the pool from this past Olympics and he’s swimming and the guy he’s beating is looking at him and there was a meme that said this is the perfect example of losers focus on winners, winners focus on winning.”
He goes on to comment, saying, “The guy is looking at him like f**k. That picture is so classic. That is a man saying f**k…he might be breathing, but it certainly looks like he’s looking right at Michael Phelps. So, it’s good for the narrative.”

The Baltimore Bullet’s Olympic accomplishments have inspired many people. Joe has always recognized greatness, and along with his accomplishments, he is astounded by Phelps’ superstar position.
Rogan stated on his show that the fact that Phelps became a swimming celebrity is remarkable. He says, “It’s interesting that Michael Phelps won all those gold medals in swimming and then he became this huge swimming star.”
Rogan is astounded by Phelps as a celebrity because hardly many swimmers are well-known. He continues, saying, “Think about how many swimming stars have been. How many are there? There is Greg Louganis, who was more of a diving star than a swimming star. Name me another famous swimmer.”
