Joe Rogan made his 2024 debut in the commentary booth at UFC 298 with Michael Bisping and Jon Anik. His assignments in 2023 were exclusively with the duo of Anik and Daniel Cormier. However, at UFC 298, Bisping replaced Cormier. Rogan only does commentary for UFC a handful of times a year due to his podcasting commitments.

UFC 298 on February 17 in Anaheim, California, was just days after Valentine’s Day. As such, Rogan got a gift from broadcast partner Jon Anik. Anik gave Rogan a stuffed animal. It was a Goat that had some words inscribed on it. This was what was inscribed on the stuffed animal.

You are the GOAT.

Many find Rogan the best at what he does. Anik is among those. Rogan made his name as the best podcaster in the world with his podcast. He recently signed a new deal with Spotify, which would bag him around $250 million. Unlike his previous contract, his new contract is not exclusive. UFC CEO Dana White had stated that Rogan deserved every bit of money he got from the new contract.

Rogan has also attracted controversy, but Anik and Dana White, among others, have always defended him. Moreover, when the mainstream media accused Rogan of racism, many of the UFC fighters stood by Rogan. Israel Adesanya, the middleweight champion at the time, publicly supported Rogan.

Joe Rogan calls fighters of the present era the best of all time

The GOAT debate is one of the sensitive subjects in MMA. Some find the fighters of the past generation to be superior to those of the present. However, others see the present generation of fighters as the best. UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan believes in the latter. Rogan stated it during his commentary at UFC 298 after Ilia Topuria knocked out Alexander Volkanovski.

Rogan emphatically stated that the present generation of fighters is superior to the past. Topuria’s performance against Volkanovski stood as a testament to Rogan’s belief. Fellow commentator Jon Anik seconded Rogan’s statement. He explained that the present-day MMA fighters have evolved to such a degree that the past generation of fighters did not achieve. Rogan has even stated in the past that Jorge Masvidal would beat Georges St-Pierre in a fight.

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre also made a similar statement. St-Pierre made the statement during a debate over whether St-Pierre or Kamaru Usman was the best welterweight ever. The Canadian explained that the present generation of fighters will always be better than the past generation.
