Tyson has trained throughout his life, however, he is not the same fighter anymore. Training methods such as this might be more efficient for the former heavyweight champion than the convention.
On the other hand, Jake Paul is known for fighting older opponents than him such as retired MMA fighters. However, he has pushed the envelope with the Tyson fight. ‘IronMike’ is 57 years old and many fight fans are highly skeptical about the fight.
Mike Tyson confirms being ‘Scared to Death’ ahead of his upcoming fight against Jake Paul
Mike Tyson is unquestionably one of the greatest fighters of all time. During the 80s and 90s, Tyson became the youngest-ever heavyweight champion, a title he holds to date. Fans and commentators still discuss the series of knockouts he posted in the early stages of his career.
Inside the ring, Tyson was a juggernaut and wanted to hurt his opponents. Unfortunately, the legendary fighter is not in the same mindset anymore. Ahead of his fight with Jake Paul, Tyson has admitted his fears going into the bout.
Anything I'm afraid of, I confront it. And that's my personality. Like right now, I'm scared to death. But as the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it's reality. And in reality, I'm invincible.Mike Tyson via Fox News
Tyson is confident that due to his daily training routine, he’s still faster than Paul who is 27 years old. The last time Tyson was inside the ring, was in 2020 when he fought an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. which ended in a draw. On the other hand, Paul is currently on a three-fight win streak and would like to continue that further. However, most of his opponents haven’t been serious contenders. Many might even characterize them as ‘Cannon Fodder’.
