Joe Rogan is one of the closest friends of tech billionaire Elon Musk. His recent appearance on Rogan’s acclaimed podcast, JRE, was a joy to watch. In a recent episode, Musk described a vivid memory of what happened on one of his birthdays.
Apparently, Musk suffered a gruesome injury on one of his birthdays. This is what Musk said to Joe Rogan about it:
The world champion Sumo wrestler, world champion Sumo wrestler, they did kind of like a demo bout for my both um, and since it was my birthday, they, I guess, they just, they called up the birthday boy and said like, 'Hey, do you want to Su my wrestle?' This is where, like, it's a similar weight differential. He was 50% heavier than me, so, um, like, I don't know, 360-370 lbs. Um, and, um, it's a, I knew you'd take it easy on me in the first round. So the only way I'm going to knock him over is momentum, so I've got to basically run at him. Um, so I did, uh, run him, did a judo throw, knocked him over, um, and smashed the disc in my neck in the process.Elon Musk via JRE.
His recent appearance on the JRE is just a few months after the plans of a proposed fight between him and Mark Zuckerberg were scrapped. Dana White and the UFC were in contention to promote the event. However, issues related to branding resulted in the fight ultimately being scrapped. Nevertheless, Musk still hopes to fight Zuckerberg in the future.
Mark Zuckerberg is currently injured and had surgery for a torn ACL. He was planning to make his MMA debut in early 2024. Fortunately, he is not planning to drop MMA altogether. In a recent Instagram post, he was positive and discussed his plans to grace the octagon in 2024 after recovery.
Elon Musk does not need to train to fight Mark Zuckerberg
In his recent appearance on JRE, Musk was dismissive of Mark Zuckerberg’s chances if a fight ever happens for them. Musk is counting on the massive weight that he has on Zuckerberg as a big factor. Moreover, he also thinks his childhood training in Karate and Judo is enough to get one over the META CEO.
This is what Musk had to say about fighting Zuckerberg on JRE.
I mean, I don't have to train, I could do it, like, tomorrow. I tried going to his house, actually.
Even though Musk believed he had the upper hand, many have touted Zuckerberg as a favorite. This is mainly due to Zuckerberg’s expertise in Jiu-Jitsu, where he has improved significantly.
Moreover, he also trained with UFC superstars Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya, who only had great things to say about him. However, Colby Covington backed Musk to beat Zuckerberg. Covington’s support is due to Musk being Republican-leaning as opposed to Zuckerberg, who is a supporter of the Democratic party.
