There is no doubt that UFC commentator Joe Rogan has had a vast range of guests who have been a part of memorable episodes. However, Rogan’s episode with popular filmmaker Quentin Tarantino was one of the most successful episodes. Rogan recently introduced UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley to the filmmaker. O’Malley revealed that he had no idea who Tarantino was.
Rogan was speaking about how it is weird to be around iconic people and mentioned Tarantino. While speaking about his movies Rogan was interrupted by O’Malley who said, “I don’t know who Quentin Tarantino is.” The UFC commentator then said, “You got some f**king movies to see.” Rogan also suggested O’Malley to watch Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction which are Tarantino masterpieces.
Rogan also claimed that Tarantino has never made a bad movie which was appreciated by O’Malley. He also spoke about how Tarantino’s movies were very violent and gory. Rogan believes that his movies would not be accepted by the modern culture and generation due to the violence. He also had an iconic moment with O’Malley when the two were trying out smelling salts.
Overall, it is obvious that Rogan greatly respects and admires Tarantino. Rogan has commended Tarantino for his talent as a director, and his familiarity with the movie industry. Tarantino has also been cited by Rogan as one of his all-time favorite directors.
Quentin Tarantino talks about the Bruce Lee fight in his latest film with Joe Rogan
Rogan is undoubtedly a huge film buff and is a fan of Hollywood movies. He has always expressed his love for Tarantino movies and has great respect for the legendary filmmaker. However, Rogan joined the criticism of Bruce Lee‘s portrayal in Tarantino’s latest, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
Rogan hosted Tarantino in what was one of the most popular episodes of the Joe Rogan Experience. Tarantino revealed that he had heard a lot of criticism for Lee’s portrayal in the movie. However, he believes that it is okay if Lee’s daughter has a problem with it, others should go and “s**k a d**k.” Tarantino also revealed that Lee had disrespect for America originally and he wanted to make his scenes look real by hitting stuntmen for real.
Regardless of one’s feelings regarding Tarantino’s portrayal of Lee, the debate has clearly prompted a much-needed discussion about how Asian Americans are portrayed in Hollywood. Fans will look forward to seeing Tarantino back on the Joe Rogan Experience soon.
