Dave Chappelle is regarded as one of the best comedians of all time. An episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ shows Joe Rogan and Chappelle discussing Christopher Nolan‘s latest film, ‘Oppenheimer.’
Joe Rogan brings up one of the most famous quotes by a human being, said by scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer. Rogan read the quote, “I am become death.” Oppenheimer took this quote from one of the world’s holiest books, The Bhagavad Gita where Lord Krishna said this line to Arjuna to explain the universe’s workings. Oppenheimer resonates with such a statement and uses it to express his feelings after creating the atomic bomb, which destroyed thousands of lives.
After Rogan reads the quote to Dave Chappelle, the comedian seemed ready to respond with a comment in all sincerity. But like most of his jokes in stand-up comedy, the delivery, and execution of his joke threw his audience off into laughter. Chappelle made up a fictional character described as a “black guy named Earl Charles,” who, as per Chappelle, was present with Oppenheimer when he made the quote. Dave claimed that “Earl Charles” responded to Oppemheimer’s quote with “Shut the fu*k up. The fu*k you talking about?“
This twist at the end of Chappelle’s story broke Joe Rogan into laughter, and ended up trolling the legendary scientist. The clip of the episode has gone viral right before the release of the much-awaited movie, ‘Oppenheimer’ starring Cillian Murphy.
