“Most f***ed up and corrupt laws”- Joe Rogan wrote an open letter to Kelloggs in solidarity with Michael Phelps

Joe Rogan and Michael Phelps

Joe Rogan is not afraid to express his beliefs and has always stood up for them, like when he issued an open letter to Kelloggs after they fired Michael Phelps for using hemp.

After being videotaped smoking from a marijuana pipe, eight-time gold medalist Michael Phelps was prohibited from competition for three months and lost Kellogg’s as a sponsor in 2009, despite him apologizing. Rogan was not pleased and sent an open letter, posting it on his blog.

Rogan began the letter by saying, “I think any reasonably intelligent person would admit that it’s one of the most f***ed up and corrupt laws that we have today in this country.” He then admires hemp calling it“relatively harmless” in comparison to hard-core substances.

Joe Rogan discusses in the said letter, why hemp was once outlawed. He adds that it was prohibited primarily because it was a plant, and one cannot patent or regulate its selling. He also stated that legalizing it will significantly alter the market for various prescription medications that generate billions of dollars for pharmaceutical businesses each year.

Hemp hasn’t killed anyone in over 10,000 years, according to Rogan. He called the law a “Horribly irrational law in place because of corruption and propaganda.” He goes on to say that preventing someone from doing something that has little impact on anyone is “absolutely f*cking un-American.”

Rogan also thought it was unfair to waste government money on victimless nonsense. He further asserted that many “potheads” like himself buy their products anyway and that if these prohibitions had not been in place, the economy would have benefited. Rogan concludes the letter by telling Kelloggs to “smarten the f*** up” and that he was going to make Eggo waffles.
