Both Rogan and Schaub were surprised when Strickland knocked down Adesanya for the first time in his career. Rogan was in disbelief and said, “Holy Sh*t, Izzy just got cracked!’. Rogan also said that Adesanya got hit with huge shots which will be problematic for him in later rounds.
The UFC commentator appreciated Strickland’s distance management and training for the exact moment. He went on to say that Strickland sparred with former champion Alex Pereira to prepare for Adesanya. Pereira obviously has more experience in kickboxing and may have helped Strickland to counter Adesanya’s shots.
