Conor Mcgregor has been out of MMA action for nearly a year now. The fighter had lost three of his last four UFC bouts and is in a bad situation. Many fans have already given up on him saying McGregor is done and should think about retiring.
McGregor is now looking forward to making his comeback later this year as he has recovered from his leg injury that happened at UFC 264. For his comeback, the fighter has already got many call-outs from other 155ers like Charles Oliveira, Michael Chandler etc.
Along with them, Ferguson who lost his last fight at UFC 274 is also a strong contender for Mcgregor’s return. Although not many support that idea is good for McGregor.

McCarthy recently in his YouTube podcast ‘Weighing In‘ with Josh Thomson was talking about McGregor’s comeback and who might be his opponent.
While talking about the possible fight between Ferguson and McGregor, McCarthy revealed that it is a bad idea for ‘The Notorious’. McCarthy explained that both are coming off consecutive losses and looking forward to getting a win. But Ferguson was looking great in the first round against Chandler and it’s a bad news for the Irish. McCarthy also put emphasis on Ferguson’s wrestling which could create a lot of problems for Conor McGregor.
“Not too sure that’s a good comeback fight for ‘The Notorious’. Let’s be honest, they’re both coming off of multiple losses. Tony’s got more losses in a row. Tony Ferguson, in that fight with Chandler, you can sit there and say what you want, the first-round he looked really good in the stand-up….Tony is going to be a problem. Tony does have good wrestling. Tony is a person that can give conor problems. I am not sure it’s a great fight for Mcgregor to come back,” said McCarthy.
Even if the fight looks equal on paper, it is sure that Ferguson was extremely sharp in that first round at UFC 274. He even dropped Chandler once for a moment before getting hit by that nasty kick. McGregor in his last fights wasn’t looking that good and his wrestling is not getting any better. However, for the fight fans it would be a great fight to watch and it will be a mega pay-per-view event.
