Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Zhang Weili
The strawweight rematch between Zhang Weili and Joanna Jedrzejczyk is all set to take place on the main card of UFC 275. The first fight took place back in UFC 248 when Weili won via unanimous decision and defended her strawweight title then during her championship tenure.
But both women went on to deliver the fans arguably the greatest women’s MMA bout in history. Now both women, both former champions, are going to fight again to capture the next title shot. This is Joanna’s return to the Octagon after nearly 2 and a half years. The rematch takes place at UFC 275 takes place this weekend in Singapore and is UFC’s first numbered PPV event to be hosted by an Asian country.
The fight card is headlined by a light-heavyweight title fight between the challenger Jiri Prochazka and the champion Glover Teixeira. The co-main event is a flyweight title fight between the champion Valentina Shevchenko and the challenger Taila Santos.

Both these women are dialed in for this rematch, and they’ve certainly changed their strategy, and UFC’s long-time commentator Jon Anik did his best to break down the fight between these two. Talking to MMA Fighting, he said, “I’m excited to see Joanna back. I think it’s a fascinating angle that if she emerged on the judges’ scorecards that night, March of 2020, she would’ve fought at least once more in a championship defense, and instead she’s had this elongated layoff.”
He added, “I have watched the first fight recently and I do believe Joanna won that fight. But I just love this division, it’s history. The strawweight division’s history is absolutely fascinating. You have Rose Namajunas who has two head-to-head wins over Joanna, and for me, Joanna’s championship reign is really the historical greatness of this division.”
“I can’t wait to see it, man. I feels a lot like Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje as far as a main card fight, I know that was an opener leading into these championship fights. I know Zhang Weili is going to be at the height of motivation. A lot of people thought she beat Rose (in her rematch) Jon concluded.
