Jon Jones has been giving fans a lot of anticipation as the UFC Heavyweight contender gears up to face Stipe Miocic at UFC 295. However, it appears that since his commanding win over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, Jon Jones has been enjoying a brief break from the world of combat sports. In a recent turn of events, It’s revealed that ‘Bones’ and Travis Barker, who is Kourtney Kardashian’s spouse, share a close friendship. Barker has recently presented the Heavyweight champion with an amazing gift that has deeply moved him.
Jones recently posted an update on his Instagram account for his fans. He used his Instagram story to unveil an interesting chat he had with Barker, leading to the gift. Their conversation kicked off with a discussion about their shared love for drumming and life.
He said, “A few days ago, I was having a conversation with Travis Barker – about drumming and life. And how I played drums growing up in church, and how I always found it so therapeutic. And Travis was like, ‘Yo, Jon – Do me a favor, man. Just send me your address. I had a big ol’ smile on my face. I’m excited to add some new drums and cymbals to this bad boy and mainly just get my skillset back.”
Jon Jones was extremely happy and praised Barker for his kindness and considerate nature, describing him as a person of high quality and great generosity. He sent his well-wishes to Barker and his “lovely family” while conveying his sincere gratitude for the wonderful gift.
Tyson Fury changes his mind on fighting UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones
The rivalry between Jon Jones and Tyson Fury started a few months ago when Fury claimed that he would beat Jones in a fight easily. After Jones replied back by mentioning that he was ready to fight, it was Fury who backed out.
The Brit revealed that he only likes to box and has no plans to take part in an MMA fight. However, Fury’s father, John, was quite curious and often mentioned that he would like his son to fight Jones. Now, it seems like Fury is ready to reconsider it after he finishes his business with Francis Ngannou.
“I told you I’d go in the cage with Ngannou, for sure,” Fury told at the pre-fight press conference with Ngannou. “And I would fight Jon Jones also in a cage if the money was right. [The four-ounce gloves] would make me a lot more devastating and it’s something that I’m quite accustomed to. Like I said, me and my brother, we’re always wrestling up and down. Loads of us, we’re always punching all of each other,” he added.
Fury is one of the biggest superstars when it comes to the world of boxing. Fury is a showman and knows the business inside and out. Fighting names such as Ngannou and Jones would create massive hype and a big PPV event, which the fighters don’t want to give up just like that.
