“There’s levels” Jon Jones hits out at Francis Ngannou and Israel Adesanya in a fierce two-tweet rant
Jones went on a twitter rant against his fellow champions
Jon Jones’ anticipated heavyweight debut is still in the works but that doesn’t mean he stops taking shots at Francis Ngannou and Israel Adesanya, the heavyweight and middleweight champions respectively. After Izzy’s latest performance he has some choice words for the two African champions about the difference between them
Both Francis and Israel have eyed bouts against Jones in the past although none have come to fruition. While Ngannou is still recovering from his knee surgery after UFC 270, Jones is rumored to be facing former Champion Stipe Miocic for the spot to challenge Ngannou for undisputed gold.
Meanwhile, Israel Adesanya had his third straight win via a low-output decision against Jared Cannonier. Though Izzy was satisfied with his performance going as far as to say, “even on my worst night, I still fucked him up” neither the fans or analysts of the sport were buying in. Jones was in that list two and made his thoughts heard.
Jon Jones doubts if Francis Ngannou or Israel Adesanya can ever catch up to his legacy
Mounting a double offensive on both the champions, Jones took to Twitter in order to remind the two how far off from reaching his legacy they are. Jones who has had 7 finishes in his 13 title defenses said, “Look at Francis over there defending Elsa, how cute.” referencing Ngannou’s appreciation of Adesanya’s performance via social media.
He continued saying, “I could takeoff two more years and you guys work combined won’t match what I’ve done in that octagon, “ assuring the two that no amount of activity from their side can replicate what Jon has already done with his career at just 34 years of age.
After some unrelated tweets responding to fans, Jones would put out a second tweet clarifying his thoughts on the two. He said, “I’m really not impressed with you or your boy, I’ve seen you quit multiple times.” Jones was most likely alluding to the fact that Francis gassed out and gave up in his two UFC losses against Stipe Miocic And Derrick Lewis. Taking aim at the Stylebender he said, “Your boy almost got flat lined the last time he faced Alex.” dismissing Adesanya’s confident stance that he can beat Pereira in MMA.
He ended the tweet saying, “Both of you guys win your next fights, then I’ll be impressed. Until then, keep the name out of your mouth, there’s levels.”
Jon Jones has been out of action since his early 2020 victory via a controversial decision over Dominick Reyes. Since then Adesanya has made 5 defenses of his middleweight title and Ngannou has managed to capture the Heavyweight Championship and defend it once against former teammate Cyril Gane.
