Heavyweight G.OA.T Jon Jones went under the knife yet again, for another simultaneous surgery. This push backs the fighter’s return to the UFC substantially, adding to Tom Aspinall‘s woe. Having thought of that beforehand, the inactive titleholder did not pull any punches. The interim titleholder Aspinall had recently gone off on Dana White and Co. for halting the heavyweight division in hopes of a legacy fight.

Jones, the 27-1 orthodox, was to hash it out with Stipe Miocic originally at UFC 295. But his slated return never came to be. The fighter suffered a pectoral tear in training and had to pull out. Soon, Aspinall’s match for the interim gold came to be. Now, fearing more callouts, check what Jones wrote in response to Tom Aspinall.

This was in response to a video by Aspinall, mocking Jones. Last October, Jones reaffirmed that he had completed the first procedure and was ready to take the next steps in his comeback. Having jumped into other recovery procedures early, there was hope for a timely return.

But now, Jones put the heavyweight division on hold after undergoing another surgery, to everyone’s shock. He chose to get some much-needed work on his elbow. He said that his recovery and rehabilitation were ultimately in line with the amount of time he already needed before he could fight.

Jon Jones is willing to gift champion Leon Edwards whatever he wants

This December, at UFC 296, Leon “Rocky” Edwards bagged a unanimous victory and retained his gold. The welterweight went up against title contender Colby Covington and won. In the build-up to the bout, Covington had deliberately defamed Edwards’ deceased father, for the sake of hyping up the match. “Chaos” had thus consequently earned the wrath of many peers and fans; this included heavyweight Jon Jones.

Jones had overtly criticized Covington and his heinous methods, which had drawn support from other fighters as well. After Edwards’ win, albeit a slow one, Jones had lauded the fighter and offered to reward him. The fighter planned to hold up to his end, as seen below:

Edwards had later asked the heavyweight peer for a Rolex watch instead. Jones is currently nursing an injury to his pectoral muscle. His return fight will be against Stipe Miocic. In his absence, Tom Aspinall became interim heavyweight champion. Aspinall is vying for a fight with either Jones or Miocic.
