UFC Fighter Jon Jones is recovering from a severe injury he sustained before UFC 295 and recently displayed his bandaged chest/shoulder after undergoing surgery. During a training session, Jones tore his pectoral tendon right off his bone. A video has surfaced with him in bandages. On Tuesday, he shared a video in which he displayed Steri-Strips, commonly used to hold incisions together.

Last week, in a video by Full Send MMA, Jones affirmed he had completed the procedure and was prepared for the next steps in his comeback. The surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has recently operated on Aaron Rodgers‘ Achilles injury. In the video, Jones said:

Obviously a very bad situation - very upset! But I have been through a lot of things in life. And injuries, is part of being an athlete. I want to thank the UFC for getting me one of the best doctors in the country - Doctor ElAttrache.

The latest video has Jones, covered in bandages at his shoulders, disgruntled. His facial expressions have, however, stirred up quite a few fan reactions. While some are supportive of the fighter and wish for a speedy recovery, others have not. Instead, they have taken to mock the fighter and his painful expressionisms.

In the meantime, Sergei Pavlovich will compete against Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title. This will be the co-main event alongside the Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira fight. CEO Dana White puts an estimate of eight months before Jones can recover.

Fans react to Jon Jones’ recovery video

Jon Jones is recovering from a serious injury, right before UFC 295. He recently displayed his wrapped pec following surgery. This injury had occurred during a training session when Jones tore his pectoral tendon. He wasted no time in getting it operated. But fans of the sport have not taken kindly to the recovery video.

In the video, Jones does say much. Unfortunately, his agonized expressionism has drawn in a lot of fan commentary. Not all of them are supportive of the fighter or directed toward his good will.

Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira fight card takes place on Nov. 11. The bouts are to happen at the iconic Madison Square Garden. There is no word on Jones facing Stipe Miocic, any soon. Miocic himself has said that UFC did not ask him to participate in the interim bout at UFC 295 anymore, despite being ready.
