“Didn’t do enough,” Jon Jones, Teddy Atlas, and more react to Israel Adesanya’s another decisive victory at UFC 276

Israel Adesanya

UFC 276 ended with Israel Adesanya getting his hand raised in the main event over Jared Cannonier, thus marking his fifth successful title defence. Adesanya was as usual technical in this fight was leading in controlling the distance and had delivered immensely powerful jabs making his way for a unanimous decision victory. Cannonier had his moments, especially during the cage wrestling work, but couldn’t be enough to have a round in his favour.

Adesanya has now called his arch-nemesis from his good old days of kickboxing, Alex Pereira for his next title defence. Pereira, who knocked out Adesanya and has another decision victory separately over the champion from the Glory Kickboxing days, stole the show tonight with a stunning knockout victory over Sean Strickland. Pereira is now 6-1 in the UFC with 5 wins by knockouts. This fight will go on an absolute cautious road for Adesanya while they potentially face in the future for the third straight time.

Adesanya has now won over Cannonier, Robert Whittaker, Marvin Vettori, Anderson Silva, Derek Brunson, Kelvin Gastelum, Paulo Costa, Yoel Romero and many more. Undefeated as a middleweight, Adesanya will most likely face the toughest fight of his MMA career if Pereira becomes the next challenger. Watch out for these reactions below from the likes of many notable faces of MMA including Jon Jones as well as legendary boxing trainer Teddy Atlas.

What did you make of the main event? Did you have Adesanya winning as dominantly as the judges scored in favour of the champion? Both fans and pros share a sentiment that the fight was rather not as exciting as it was hyped to be leading up to the fight week. Did you feel the same way? Who do you think would win between Adesanya and his potential next opponent Alex Pereira?
