Retired fighter Jorge Masvidal went on two podcasts recently. He joined Jake Paul’s show to discuss fighter pay and other issues. Masvidal came on the podcast hosted by Tyreek Hill to discuss his career. The “Gamebred” fighter spoke about the reality behind his issues with Colby Covington. Masvidal stated that Colby should never have brought the topic of the family into their beef/rivalry. He also described how their friendship started on the podcast.
Jorge Masvidal said, “It is all on YouTube. We trained at the same gym, American Top Team. The ATT had a recruiting team, and I was like the guy who would take the guys out to nightclubs and show them around. Me and him got closer and closer. I used to play poker a lot back then, and he used to play poker a lot too. We would be at the gym the same time and similar rhythms like chasing girls, playing poker, and gym.”
Masvidal felt betrayed when Colby turned on him for monetary benefits. However, he also stated that his beef with other fighters was not personal. Masvidal and Kamaru Usman beefed multiple times, but it never became personal. He also had problems with Michael Bisping, but the duo sorted their issues out. Only Colby managed to make the beef personal with the former BMF champion.
The duo would fight at UFC 272, and Colby dominated Masvidal for all five rounds. Masvidal had moments in the fight where he rocked Colby with a right hook in the fourth round. However, Colby’s pressure wrestling and cardio proved too much for Masvidal. The beef did not end after the fight, as Masvidal attacked Colby on the streets. They are currently in a legal situation following the street attack.

Former President Donald Trump visited a restaurant in Little Havana after pleading not guilty to the charges. Trump promised free food for everyone in the restaurant. Retired fighter and former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal joined Trump at the restaurant.
The retired fighter posed for a picture with Trump. They exchanged pleasantries and had a good time with the people inside the restaurant. Masvidal has supported Trump since the former President won the election in 2016. He joined Donald Trump Jr on a bus journey to fight against the rise of socialism in America.
Masvidal likely will join Trump on his campaign to become the Republican nominee for the 2024 Presidential election. It happens to be seen how Masvidal and Colby will behave when both are likely to join the former President’s campaign.
