Jorge Masvidal was one of the most entertaining fighters in the octagon. The former BMF champion recently captured attention on social media. Rumors about his return to the octagon have gained traction in recent months. ‘Gamebred’ addressed these rumors in a recent interview. Masvidal claimed he could beat the current BMF champion, Justin Gaethje.

Masvdal recently spoke to Fan Sided MMA. The former BMF champ believed he would snatch the belt by taking Gaethje’s head off clean in the future. Gamebred felt that his skills and tenacity would overpower Gaethje. This is what he said:

In the future, if Gaethje still has that title I wouldn’t mind snatching it right off his hands via. taking his f***ing head off clean.

Masvidal specified that he had nothing against Justin Gaethje and respected him. Gamebred believed his skills were far superior to that of the current BMF champion. He felt that this fight would give him the exposure to showcase his renewed skills. Masvidal also said he planned to return to fighting this year. However, it was boxing instead of MMA.

Gaethje holds the BMF belt after defeating Dustin Poirier via a spectacular head-kick KO last July. Masvidal retired back in 2023 but has now planned a return. However, it remains to be seen if the UFC will ever book a fight between Gaethje and Masvidal.

Justin Gaethje shuts down Jorge Masvidal’s callout

Justin Gaethje has prioritized winning the lightweight title over anything else. This put any talk of a BMF belt fight with Jorge Masvidal on hold. Moreover, no one believed that the UFC would bring Masvidal back to fight again for the BMF title. Masvidal recently spoke about fighting Gaethje for the BMF belt

Masvidal suggested he could return from retirement to face Gaethje down the road. He saw it as unfinished business after Gaethje beat Dustin Poirier. Gaethje agreed to its appeal but said his sole focus was capturing the undisputed lightweight championship first. Gaethje didn’t think Masvidal would come back either. He joked that Masvidal looked around 240 pounds currently at age 39.

The lightweight contender is set to fight Max Holloway to defend his BMF belt. Gaethje’s exciting style built his momentum towards a title shot. Gaethje said he was zeroed in on earning undisputed gold at 155 pounds.
