Gunshot wound in both arms! Jorge Masvidal’s father faces attempt to murder charges after emergence of recent details

Despite being a public figure, the intricacies of Jorge’s familial relationships are unknown to the public.

However, the recent news about Jorge Masvidal‘s 67-year-old father has shocked fans. According to the Miami-Dade (Florida) Police Department, Jorge Masvidal Sr. was arrested on second-degree murder. The UFC superstar’s father was taken into custody after a shooting involving a deadly weapon inside his son’s Miami residence.

According to ESPN, Masvidal Sr. is accused of shooting a man by the name of Luis Lencioni at least twice. The man appeared to have been shot in both arms and was rushed to the hospital. According to the police, the 67-year-old claimed to have shot him following a ‘verbal dispute.’ Police also reported that the UFC star was not present in the mansion when the shooting occurred.

Following the shooting, Jorge Masvidal Sr. was taken into custody. The fighter’s father has sworn an affidavit and is under the right to remain silent. According to reports, the police found a 38-caliber weapon in the possession of the 67-year-old. Upon an arrest warrant being issued, the weapon was found in the kitchen.

Jorge Masvidal Sr. talks to the media about his arrest

The father of UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal was arrested for second-degree murder. Upon issuing a search warrant, police found a weapon under the kitchen cabinet. The shooting was reported to take place at Jorge Masvidal Sr.’s son’s mansion in Miami. The man the 67-year-old allegedly shot to death was reported to be called Luis Lencioni.

Since the arrest, nothing had been heard from the 67-year-old until now. The Miami news station, WPLG Local 10, covered the story as Jorge Masvidal Sr. bonded out of jail. The moment captured on video shows the fighter’s father talking to the press about what had happened. According to him, the reason for his arrest is unknown.

“No!” said the 67-year-old when he was asked if Jorge Masvidal was coming to pick him up from jail. According to the WPLG Local 10 reports, Masvidal Sr. claims that the accusations of the shootings were a lie that was fabricated. Allegedly, he also said that he was with friends and does not know the reason for his arrest. The father of the UFC fighter also claimed that he knew nothing about the shooting.

Jorge Masvidal and his father share a close relationship. Although, he is yet to comment on the situation. It was also said that the UFC fighter was not present at his own home when the alleged shooting took place. Following his fight against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287, ‘Gamebred’ announced his retirement.
