Bare Knuckle boxing has been a popular sport for a long time. Promotions such as Bare Knuckle Boxing, Ultimate Bare Knuckle Boxing, and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship have been organizing events for quite a long time now.
Bare-knuckle boxing is the sport of boxing without the usage of boxing gloves or other padding on their hands. The sport has recently gained popularity because of its violence and rawness.
Last year, The UFC star Jorge Masvidal talked about opening a bare-knuckle MMA organization and getting fighters to fight in the promotion. Before the UFC 261 press conference featuring his rematch with welterweight champ Kamaru Usman, Masvidal announced his new promotion, Gamebred Fighting Championship, which pairs him with hip-hop artist Anuel AA for a bare-knuckle MMA event.
Jorge on his Instagram posted: “Anuel AA, and I have teamed up to bring you the most vicious fights we could think of Bare Knuckle MMA. That’s right, no gloves, same rules and the first fight will be in Miami on June 25.”
Jorge Masvidal launched then his very own Bareknuckle MMA promotion on June 18th, 2021. The UFC partnered with Puerto Rican singer Anuel AA to launch his new business. Jorge Masvidal recently tweeted about the legalization of Bare Knuckle MMA in 2 states of the US. Jorge Tweeted: “Bare knuckle MMA just got approved in 2 more states! @GamebredFC hitting the road”
Fans ask Jorge Masvidal to try Bare Knuckle boxing
After his recent tweet about his Bare knuckles promotion, a fan replied to Masvidal and trolled him for his tweet. The fan tweeted: “You can’t win with gloves on so it’s worth a shot” In UFC, Masvidal is coming off a loss to Colby Covington and recently also made the headlines for ambushing Covington after their fight at a restaurant in Miami.
The tweet was apparently made to target Jorge because of his loss to Colby at UFC 272. Jorge lost to Colby via unanimous decision and the judges scored the fight 49-46, 50-45, 50-44 in the favor of Colby.
