Jorge Masvidal talks about his future! Leon Edwards’ knockout of Kamaru Usman has opened up new possibilities in the 170-pound division of the UFC. While the division was long dominated by Kamaru Usman, Leon Edwards at UFC 278 marked an end to the Nigerian fighter’s reign. It is expected that Edwards will make his first title defense in a trilogy against Usman. However, there are other fighters who will look to fill that spot, and Jorge Masvidal is one of them.

Since his loss to Colby Covington at UFC 272, Masvidal is yet to make his return to the octagon. While ‘Gamebred’ is a huge name in the sport, the 170-pound fighter has experienced a slump in form. Masvidal, who amassed a winning streak after his finish of Darren Till, now finds himself on the losing column with 3 consecutive losses. Fans of ‘Gamebred’ are hopeful of a positive return, however, they are unclear on whom the fighter will face next.

Jorge Masvidal has had an interesting run when it comes to fighting for titles in the UFC. While he was able to win the BMF belt against Nate Diaz at UFC 244, Masvidal found himself on the losing end twice in his quest for the welterweight championship. He suffered a decision loss to Usman in their first fight at UFC 251 and got knocked out in a rematch at UFC 261.

However, he has not let these losses affect his title ambitions. Recently after Leon Edwards knocked out Kamaru Usman, Jorge Masvidal shared an ambitious tweet. He wrote, “I will be the ww champ of the ufc soon.

While the fighter has his eyes set on the title, it is hard to believe he will receive a title shot. Masvidal is on a 3-fight losing streak and considering Kamaru Usman’s dominance, it is only fair that ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ deserves a rematch. But, since Masvidal and Edwards share a history due to a physical confrontation during UFC London, there is a possibility we might see them in action.
